DIY Wreath Video Tutorial
Here’s your video to take you through making your wreath with your DIY Fresh Christmas Wreath Making Kit.
Build your own Christmas wreath at home this year using Christmas foliage and decorations in natural colours with a lovely bow. The video above will show you how you can make your wreath using your diy wreath kit.
You will need to provide yourself with the following items as these are not provided with the wreath building kit:
- Sharp scissors or secateurs because you will be cutting wire.
- A protective layer for the table you’re working on.
- An apron to cover your clothes, it can get a bit messy with the moss! You can also wear gloves if you like.
Please be aware that this is a fresh wreath so will last for Christmas but will dry out eventually.
To prolong the life of your wreath, hang your wreath in a cool place and sheltered place, preferably outside. As this wreath is a fresh and natural wreath, needle dropping may occur. Please also be aware that the damp moss back may leave a mark on some materials.
Once you've received your wreath box, please make your wreath as soon as you can because some of the wreath building elements are fresh.
Here are the wreath making steps mentioned in the video tutorial:
Attach your reel wire to the wreath frame so it’s secure.
Bind the moss onto your wreath, wrapping the wire round the moss so it covers the wreath frame.
Once you’ve added all the moss, cut and tie off the wire so it’s secure.
Add the wire back onto the wreath frame.
Now add one piece of foliage on at a time, layering one on top of the next but moved round slightly and travelling round the wreath in one direction.
When you’ve added all your foliage, cut your wire off by about 10cm and wrap it securely around the wire already bound round the wreath so it’s secure and doesn’t unravel. Stick the end of the wire into the back of your wreath so it doesn’t scratch your door.
Wire your decorations and add them onto the wreath.
Finish by attaching your bow and smoothing out the ribbon, then thread the twine round the top of your wreath so you can hang it from your door.
Have fun getting creative and making your Christmas wreath!
